Ms. MENG Moniruoth

Moniruoth is a lecturer at the Royal University of Laws and Economics – English Language-Based Bachelor of Law Program, a Managing Partner and an Attorney-at-Law at a local Cambodian Law Firm. In the public sector, Ms. Moniruoth is a member of the Cambodian Human Rights Committee, serving from 2021 until the present. She holds an LL.M. degree from Nagoya University, Japan, an LL.B. degree from the Royal University of Law and Economics, Cambodia, and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree from the Royal University of Phnom Penh, Institute of Foreign Languages. She has had a working career and experience at both local and international levels.

Moniruoth advises clients on a broad range of legal issues in Cambodia. Her expertise includes litigation and dispute resolution, commercial contracts, business establishments and compliance, intellectual property, labor and employment, tax, and customs. Prior to joining the university, Ms. Monirouth had worked freelance and part-time in various sectors. She had worked as an intern at a Japanese Law Firm in Tokyo, Japan, and has had experience working at local law firms in Cambodia since 2015. For her full-time job experience, after her Master’s Degree graduation, she worked at the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Cambodia to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva and the Royal Embassy of Cambodia to Switzerland. Additionally, she coached and participated in numerous international competitions, such as the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, Japan’s Intercollegiate Negotiation Competition, and the Jean-Pictet Competition. She also attended many international conferences and workshops in Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, South Korea, Geneva, and Cambodia. She is fluent in Khmer, English, and Chinese and has attained intermediate proficiency in Japanese.
