Dr. SAO Socheata

Lecturer Teaching Legal Method, Research and Analysis and Business and Human Rights

Dr. Socheata is the Deputy Director of the English Language-Based Master of Law Programme at RULE. She also teaches Legal Research and Business and Human Rights in the program. Socheata is a member of the Global Business and Human Rights Scholars Association and a commercial arbitrator at the National Commercial Arbitration Centre of Cambodia (NCAC). Socheata completed her Ph.D. at Monash University, Australia. Her thesis assessed avenue(s) for access to effective remedies for land-grabbing victims in ASEAN. She obtained her LL.M. in International Commercial Law (Distinction) from the University of Kent (UK) and bachelor’s degrees in law (Cambodia), Business Economics (Cambodia), and Business Administration (France). Prior to pursuing her Ph.D. at Monash, she worked as the Deputy Director of the English Language Based Master of Law Program (ELBML) and as an associate in the corporate law practice at Sok Siphana & Associates, a top law firm in Phnom Penh.
