Hin Pinnarith (2020 Intake)

Attorney-At-Law and Arbitrator
at National Commercial Arbitration Center of Cambodia

During the course of my study at ELBML, I have learned more than I thought was possible. As a practicing lawyer and arbitrator, people may question why I must study in the ELBML program. Well, learning is a life-long journey, and there is more to this program than my initial expectation. In many ways, what I have learned from the program echoes exactly my working experience as a professional lawyer and arbitrator. My English proficiency and legal skills have improved significantly through each course I have taken. Especially, I am now more capable of drafting and revising contracts and writing legal memos in English, as well as conducting legal due diligence in commercial matters. What is more, my research skills have been enhanced through an opportunity to carry out my own research on a subject of my interest and explore holistic views on the research problem beyond legal matters. These are the skills I have strived to improve before joining the program. I can also confirm that courses and these skills provided in the program are highly relevant to the current practice in the Cambodian legal sector, which was the basis of my decision to join the program. I am now confident to say that my ability to organize and express my thoughts, knowledge, and ideas in legal writing and legal reasoning are more concise and coherent. I am definitely pleased with my study and look forward to learning more from experienced, enthusiastic and supportive lecturers in the program.
